Sun City Texas Democrats meet every month of the year except for July and August. The monthly meetings feature speakers from a variety of organizations discussing topics of current interest. Occasionally, we take time for some socializing, too! Dues are $20.00 per year.

What: Holiday Brunch

When: Saturday, December 3 (following regular meeting)

Where: Sun City Activities Center Atrium

We will start our regular meeting at 10:00. Following the meeting we will gather for a social time and celebration of this season of giving. Please join us for this festive brunch!

We will provide: entrée finger foods, coffee, punch (with and without)

Please help by contributing: fruit or cheese trays, small sandwich squares, breads or holiday sweets. There will be a nominal $3.00 fee per person.

On this same day, let us open our Democratic hearts, and make this a true season of giving. The Caring Place is in constant need of personal care items. Let’s see if we can fill two “Santa’s bags” with such items as: Toothpaste, tooth brushes, deodorant, toilet paper, shampoo, soaps, and yes, cereal.

PURPOSES AND OBJECTIVES

Purpose: A gathering of like-minded people to discuss and support principles of the Democratic Party, to provide opportunities to express these principles and to elect Democrats.

Goals for 2005-2006 to support the Purpose

To Gain Knowledge - by learning the meaning of these principles in order to discuss relevant issues affecting our country.

Program Committee supports this goal by the monthly programs.
A committee of specialists for the various identified issues is being formed.
Those who attend meeting are to be invited to lunch with the speaker - a chance to dialog.

To Grow - by encouraging others in the local community to join our group and become a political force within Williamson County

Communications Committee will develop a communication plan.
Membership Committee will expand their Committee from one person to a network of membership people; the goal is one Democratic Membership Committee member in each neighborhood.

To Prepare for 2006 Election - by actively encouraging people to vote in order to express their commitment to our democratic system.

A Voter Registration Committee should be formed to start planning now to get out the vote.
Preparations should be made now to train people in the skills needed to work on voter registration.
The Club President and Public Events Director will be liaisons to the County Democratic organization.
